Plot
The Opener is the opening animated short film to Niles Abston's second hour long comedy special, household name. The special was shot live in Chicago at the Lincoln Lodge on July 16, 2022 written and performed by Niles Abston and directed by John Becker. I directed and produced the 12 minute short over the course of a year with a small team of black animators and artists. The short stars Abston, Yedoye Travis, Arthur Hamilton, Chelse Greaux, Johnny Mac, and L'eah Sampson, and is a co-production between Fish Fry Media and Imaginex Animation Studios, LLC.
